New Unit! We are going to study Presentations!

Today we are going to learn how to view presentations.

1. Download the one page guide (on a presentation) click here, then minimize it and have it ready.

2. Download the worksheet here, open it, minimize it and have it ready, also.

3. The worksheet gives directions and asks questions. Read it carefully in order and answer the questions. It will ask you to download 2 presentations for the work. One is called “intropart1.ppt” here, and the second is called“CYBERBULLYING.ppt” found here

4. When you are done, keyboard if there is any time.

7th 8th Grade Assignment #17

Today we are going to do a short exercise on different

types of graphs and their uses.

1. First go to the podcast called “Types of Graphs”. Podcast click here.

2. Next download the spreadsheet, it is called “graphexercise.xls.”  Make a graph for each sheet, there are five sheets total. The graphs are not always easy to make so you might have to try a few times on a couple of them. Spreadsheet download site click here.

3. Do the reflection sheet when you have finished all the graphs.

1. Follow Mr. Litt’s directions on Keyboarding first.

2. Today you are going to try an activity that uses a spreadsheet to estimate how much you’ve spent while you go shopping. Go to the website link and read the directions carefully. This activity is actually fun and is not that easy, take your time and try to do the best you can. REALLY READ THE DIRECTIONS SO YOU UNDERSTAND THE TASK BEFORE YOU TRY IT.

7th 8th Grade Assignment #15

We are still doing a business simulation on PREDICTING TRENDS. Today is a performance test of what you’ve learned.

You will be doing two days of work in one:

-Making averages of all the sales

-Making a graph and interpreting it.

Mr. Litt will be watching you and giving you a performance grade.

1.Download the spreadsheet from this site, Its called “Performance Test Trends_Rainbow Lollipop.xls”. Spreadsheet download site click here.

2. There is a podcast to help you get started, listen to it, it is called “Performance Test Preparation” Podcast click here.

3.Use the first guide and find the averages for each of the six columns in the box marked averages. Do the same for sheet 2 and sheet 3 on the same spreadsheet.

Next, use the second guide and go to sheet 4. Enter the data to make a graph and make the graph.

4. When you are done with finding the averages and making a graph, go to the “Reporting Trends” worksheet” and fill it out carefully, using the graph. Hand this worksheet in to Mr. Litt when finished.

5. When you are done, keyboard at your level. The keyboarding links page has been updated.

2. There is a podcast to help you through all the steps, listen to it and be ready to puse it to work in between.. Podcast click here.

7th 8th Grade Assignment #13

Today we are going to fulfill two learning goals: Learn the ways kids “cyber bully” and the consequences, and review multiplication and addition on spread sheets.

FIRST GOAL: Cyber bullying

1. Have the “Cyber Bullying Worksheet in hand. We have printed copies,DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE DIGITAL VERSION,here.

2. Answer questions from the podcast on the website given here. The podcast is small and red in the middle of the page, look carefully for it. Read ahead one question and listen for the answer. Puase the podcast to answer, then read the next question to know what to listen for. Podcast site here.

3.Answer questions on the same sheet from this website.

SECOND GOAL; Spreadsheet review

We’ve done this assignment before, do it again, practice makes you faster and better at it. For a challenge, use the function wizard! Insert>function…..the word for multiplication is “product” and the word for addition is “sum”.

4. Make sure you have two guide sheets in hand from Mr. Litt.

5. Download the sheet from the site link below, today’s sheet is called Moshe’s_HD_with_errors.xls. Get spreadsheet  by going to this site.

6. Look at the guide to help you; Put in the multiplication formulas in column “D” and the whole column addition formulas at the bottom.

7. Now look at the spreadsheet, on the bottom left are small tabs that say “sheet 1″, “sheet 2″ and some arrows to go to “sheet 3″. Go to sheet 2 and sheet 3 and fix the formulas that are there that are wrong. Do this by selecting each cell and checking the formula on it in the formula bar.

8. Show Mr. Litt your completed spreadsheet and write a reflection on your learning goals sheet.

9. Go to Typeonline by clicking here and do the lessons at your level.

10. Do additional practice for your level from this site, also.
